Flexible Programs for Ages 3 and 4
3-Year-Old Program (Thurs & Fri)
Our 3s class introduces young children to the school environment in a gentle, supportive way. With just two part-day sessions per week, this program eases children into routines, builds trust in teachers, and encourages social connections. Activities are hands-on and age-appropriate, with a focus on play, songs, simple structure, and curiosity-led exploration.
Families can choose from three session times to best fit their needs:
- B1: 9:00–11:30 AM
- B2: 11:00 AM–1:30 PM
- B3: 1:00–3:30 PM
4-Year-Old Program (Mon–Wed)
Designed to prepare children for kindergarten, the 4s program builds on the skills introduced at age 3. With three part-day sessions each week, students dive deeper into academic readiness, critical thinking, social development, and independence. This is where the foundation for future school success is truly laid—and it all happens through joyful, purposeful learning.
Available session times include:
- A1: 9:00–11:30 AM
- A2: 11:00 AM–1:30 PM
- A3: 1:00–3:30 PM

Academic Foundations
Our preschoolers learn early literacy, numeracy, science, and pre-reading through songs, stories, sorting, and discovery. STEM is introduced in fun, age-appropriate ways—like exploring bugs, measuring with cups, or building block towers.
We also nurture curiosity through hands-on experiments, group projects, and guided play that spark a lifelong love of learning.
Social & Emotional Skills
Children learn how to take turns, solve conflicts with words, and work as a team. We emphasize confidence-building, emotional awareness, and respectful communication—all skills that help them thrive in kindergarten and beyond.
We help children recognize and name their feelings, practice empathy, and develop friendships that make school a happy place to be. Our teachers model positive interactions and guide children through challenges, building resilience and kindness every day.
Creative Expression
Each day offers opportunities to paint, dance, sing, and pretend. Music and seasonal performances are a big part of our program—encouraging imagination, joy, and self-confidence in every child.
Children also enjoy group art projects, dramatic play, and opportunities to share their creations with classmates—helping them build pride, communication skills, and a sense of belonging.
Daily Routines
Children thrive on predictable structure. Our routines help them learn how to clean up after activities, follow group directions, organize belongings, and take responsibility—all in a gentle, age-appropriate way.
We also teach simple self-care skills, like washing hands, putting on coats, and managing snack time—helping children gain confidence and independence in everyday routines.
A Blend of HighScope and Montessori-Inspired Learning
We thoughtfully combine two of the most respected early childhood approaches: HighScope and Montessori-inspired learning. This blend means your child gets the best of both worlds—structure and freedom, group learning and independent choice.
In practice, that looks like children choosing activities during free play, then joining group circle time for songs or story discussions. They’ll work on hands-on STEM tasks with teacher guidance, and then move to quiet solo work that promotes focus and fine motor skills. Every moment is intentional—and designed to nurture growth in all areas.

We welcome children who are age 3 or 4 by September 1 of the school year. Our 3-year-old program runs on Thursdays and Fridays, and our 4-year-old program meets Monday through Wednesday.
We offer three time slots for each age group to fit different family schedules:
- Morning: 9:00–11:30 AM
- Midday: 11:00 AM–1:30 PM
- Afternoon: 1:00–3:30 PM
Buttons & Bows is a part-time preschool focused on education—not a full-day daycare. Our half-day model supports learning without overwhelming little ones, making it ideal for families looking for structure and quality over long hours.
While we are not affiliated with a specific church, Buttons & Bows is rooted in Christian values. Our programs nurture kindness, gratitude, and purpose through songs, stories, and seasonal traditions.
As a private preschool, we do not participate in DSHS or state subsidy programs. However, we’re happy to discuss payment options or available discounts with you directly.
